Exit Route I-95 South, after crossing into NH, at Exit 3B.
(The sign says: SR 33 GREENLAND/PORTSMOUTH)
Off the exit, TURN RIGHT, towards Portsmouth. (leg is 1.5 miles long.)
At the third traffic light (not counting the light at the exit), TURN RIGHT
onto Peverly Hill Road. (This is just after a large cemetery on the right.
There is a sign on the right visible only after you turn which says: TO
ROUTE 1.)
Go 1 mile until you reach a stop light, with a Sprague gas station on the
left, and an Exxon station across the highway. TURN RIGHT onto Route
1. (The intersection is poorly marked.)
Go 4.6 miles on Route 1. (Lots of malls and traffic lights!)
At 4.5 miles, there will be a YELLOW SIGN on the right announcing
NORTH ROAD just ahead on the left. Move to the left lane and TURN
LEFT onto NORTH ROAD at a golf driving range (there is a BOOK
STORE on the right side of Route 1 just prior to the turn. If you pass
Rollins Furniture on the right, you have gone too far!)
At the first stop sign, North Road becomes South Road and leads
directly to Abenaqui Country Club. Stay right at the fork in the road (do
not turn onto Love Lane). You will see the golf course on both sides of
the road. Just past the golf course there is a stop sign at Central Road.
Turn LEFT onto Central Road. The clubhouse is 3/10 mile on the left.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH
There are several ways to get to the Club:
On Route I-95 North, get off at the Hampton Exit (which is just before
the major toll booths) – Northbound toll is $. 50.
Turn RIGHT after paying the toll onto Route 101 West. Go to the first
exit (1 mile), Exit 12, which is Route 111. Turn RIGHT and cross over
Route I-95. Follow signs to US Route - 1.
Turn LEFT onto US Route - 1 North and in a mile you pass an Acura
dealership on the right. You will see ROLLINS FURNITURE, a large
white building on the left.
Immediate after that, turn RIGHT onto North Road (a golf driving range
is on the right.) After 1.1 miles, at a stop sign, North Road becomes
South Road. Stay right at the fork in the road. Continue until you see an
unmarked golf course on both sides (Abenaqui CC) Just past it, turn
LEFT at the stop sign onto Central Road and the clubhouse is 3/10
mile on the left.
OR
If you like a scenic drive, go to the shore at Seabrook (by Route 286), or
even Salisbury, turn north on Route 1A, and drive through Hampton
Beach, Little Boars Head, some of those beautiful oceanfront
mansions, and less than a mile past them, there is a sign (white and
green) at Central Road for Abenaqui CC.
Turn LEFT there and continue past the golf course to the clubhouse.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE WEST
Arriving from the West on Route 101, take Exit 12, which is Route 111.
Turn LEFT toward Hampton and cross over Route I-95. Follow signs to
US Route - 1.
Turn LEFT onto US Route 1 North and in a mile you pass an Acura
dealership on the right. You will see ROLLINS FURNITURE, a large
white building on the left.
Immediate after that, turn RIGHT onto North Road (a golf driving range
is on the right.) After 1.1 miles, at a stop sign, North Road becomes
South Road. Continue until you see an unmarked golf course on both
sides (Abenaqui CC)
Just past it, turn LEFT at the stop sign onto Central Road. The
clubhouse is 3/10 mile on the left.
DIRECTIONS FROM ABENAQUI to Head SOUTH
Turn RIGHT as you leave the clubhouse parking lot.
Turn RIGHT onto SOUTH ROAD.
Continue straight – at the stop sign, the road becomes NORTH ROAD.
At the end, Turn LEFT onto US Route 1 South (Lafayette), and note your
odometer. This is a dangerous highway entry, so be patient!
At .8 miles, just after the Barber Shop on the right, is an unmarked
street. Just prior to it will be a green sign, saying “Greenland”. Turn
RIGHT onto it. If you miss it, do not worry, just go a little further down
US Route 1 to the stop light, and turn RIGHT – the results will be the
same.
Continue and at Route 151 you make a slight jog to the left and right,
basically continuing straight ahead, pass over Route I - 95, and
continue about a mile further until you pass UNDER US Route 101 (the
only underpass on the road).
Take the LEFT after the underpass and follow Route 101 South 1 mile
to Route I - 95 South.
